Facilities and Plant Maintenance Technician II

Preventative and routine maintenance of the primary and support equipment and facilities used to repair and manufacture products; manage projects for process improvement, development and shop support. Responsibilities Performs preventive maintenance on CNC and manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, and grinders), plunge and wire EDM, vacuum/atmosphere furnaces, thermal spray equipment and various other plant machinery and equipment. Performs electrical maintenance, repair work, and troubleshooting on equipment. Installs equipment for new electrical services (120 v, 240 v, and 480 v three‑phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, timers and controls for various plant machinery. Operates a variety of standard power tools and equipment. Maintains records and logs, as needed. Guidance and direction will come from experienced maintenance Leads; performs related duties as needed or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school, Military, or Technical School and a minimum of three years of experience in a variety of trades or construction work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, practices, tools, and equipment associated with electrical and production plant machinery. Considerable knowledge of and ability to use standard hand and power tools and equipment employed in maintenance activities. Considerable knowledge and application of safety standards and precautions pertaining to electrical work. Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints. Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, and operate hand and power tools in a safe, efficient manner. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively.
