CMM Operator

Create and execute inspection programs on CMM machines (e.g., using software like PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Polyworks) to measure parts. Dimensional inspection Inspect parts and materials for dimensional accuracy, comparing them against engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry standards. Use of other measurement tools Utilize various hand tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other metrology equipment to perform inspections. Data analysis and documentation Record inspection data, document any defects or deviations, and prepare inspection reports. Quality control Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections, maintain lot integrity, and ensure First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are completed properly. Troubleshooting and communication Identify and report production problems, assist in correcting them, and communicate inspection results with supervisors and other personnel. Required skills and qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications are beneficial. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards. Experience with CMM operation and programming software is often required.
