Business Intelligence Specialist

Salary: $71,000 - 92,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in statistics, computer science, data science, operations research, applied mathematics, engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, or a related quantitative field
• At least 4–5 years of experience developing and implementing advanced predictive models, conducting data mining or data science projects, and working in business intelligence
• More than 4 years of experience working on complex projects in the financial industry
• Substantial coding expertise in at least one of SAS, R, or Python
• Knowledge of statistical and data-mining techniques, including generalized linear models and regression, random forests, boosting, decision trees, text mining, hierarchical clustering, deep learning, neural networks, and graph analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex datasets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage projects independently, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and develop creative solutions
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, accept feedback, and manage multiple projects
• Familiarity with Git version control and development environments
• A certification in an open-source coding language such as R or Python
• Knowledge of data-mining tools such as SAS Enterprise Miner is desirable
• Knowledge of database programming languages such as MS SQL and relational databases; NoSQL experience is a plus
• Substantial knowledge of data-visualization tools such as Power BI
• SAS certification is a plus

• Analyze business data using data science and business intelligence methods, turning raw data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions
• Create visualizations with approved tools, automate reporting, and conduct ad hoc analyses
• Develop, apply, and implement statistical, descriptive, and predictive models, including machine-learning, classification, regression, and time-series models
• Identify patterns, trends, anomalies, customer profiles, forecasts, and business opportunities through data analysis and mining
• Translate findings into practical business strategies and share insights with business partners and executives
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using approved business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Promote data accuracy, integrity, security, quality, and accessibility across platforms
• Recommend improvements and solutions based on analytical findings
• Support automation of information requirements for business lines and respond to ad hoc and special-project needs
• Track, document, and maintain analytical and model-development cycles to support reproducibility, scalability, timely delivery, and actionable outcomes
• Collaborate with Model Risk Management on model validation by providing documentation, conducting back-testing, and performing ongoing monitoring
• Work with data scientists, engineers, business users, and other internal stakeholders to define business needs and requirements and deliver data solutions
• Provide guidance to stakeholders and team members and contribute to knowledge sharing
• Complete assigned special projects and other duties
• Carry out preventive measures to comply with applicable rules, regulations, and internal policies concerning BSA, the USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other AML-related risks
