Responsibilities

Responsible for processing purchase orders, quotes, and confirmations in a timely fashion.

Manage all open purchase orders pending confirmation from the supplier which should include quantity ordered, pricing, and delivery date.

Work with suppliers to receive confirmation within 24 hours of placing purchase order.

Handle quote requests from sales reps or customer service reps in a timely manner.

Responsible for managing suppliers to meet expectations regarding competitiveness, service, quality, and responsiveness while maintaining a positive relationship with suppliers.

Qualifications

Requirements

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a procurement position managing others (packaging industry highly preferred).

A critical component of this position is communicating in a positive and supportive manner with a sense of urgency.

Ability to effectively negotiate.

Solid understanding of inventory and backorders.
