Litigation Associate

A respected mid-size defense law firm in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. Responsibilities Represent clients throughout all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trial proceedings. Develop and implement effective case strategies. Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation matters. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents. Prepare and respond to written discovery. Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties. Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Attend court appearances and advocate on behalf of clients before judges and tribunals. Manage cases from inception through resolution while maintaining exceptional client service. Handle cases ranging from personal injury defense, insurance coverage, trucking liability defense, and premises liability defense. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Missouri, or eligible for admission. Prior civil litigation experience preferred. Experience handling cases from inception through resolution. Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent legal writing and drafting skills. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills. Ability to effectively manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Competitive compensation package.
