Part-Time English Tutor (After-School Program) at Concorde Education

Help K-12 students strengthen reading and writing skills in engaging after-school tutoring sessions. Flexible, part-time hours - typically 1-4 hours per week. Location : On-site at a partner school (varies by assignment)

- Tutor students in reading, writing, and literacy skills
- Lead engaging after-school sessions for small and mid-sized student groups
- Help students build confidence and stronger study habits
- Support skill development through structured practice and feedback
- Foundational reading skills (phonics, decoding, fluency)
- Reading comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, evidence)
- Vocabulary development and academic language
- Grammar, sentence structure, and writing mechanics
- Paragraph organization and essay writing
- Revising and editing written work
- Academic discussion and communication skills
- Study strategies and test preparation
- Organizational and learning habits
- Provide tutoring and academic support for small and mid-sized student groups
- Lead structured sessions including modeling, guided practice, and independent work
- Create a supportive learning environment that builds student confidence and engagement
- Monitor student progress through informal skill checks and observation
- Communicate professionally with school staff and Concorde program coordinators
- Adapt instruction based on student progress and site feedback
- Minimum 60 college credits (Associate degree or in progress acceptable)
- Strong English Language Arts skills appropriate to the assigned grade band
- Experience working with school-age students (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable supporting learners with varied learning levels
- Teachers and substitute teachers
- College students studying education or English
- Tutors and academic coaches
- Writers, editors, or literacy professionals
- Anyone passionate about helping students build strong literacy skills
