Material HandlerRequisition ID: 1308 Location: Orrville, OH, US Job Family Function: Manufacturing Department: Shop Production Division: Orrvilon Manufacturing DivisionThe Material Handler Associate is responsible for receiving and following verbal or written instruction from the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and supporting the movement, organization, and staging of materials and products within and outside the facility. The position plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting production schedules, and ensuring optimal use of facility space in alignment with the 6S initiative.Location: Orrville, OHPrimary Responsibilities:Receive and follow verbal and written instructions from the Shipping and Receiving SupervisorMove, organize, and transport products such as panels and shims off site as requiredCoordinate with scheduling and leadership to ensure products are returned prior to campaign start datesSupport space optimization efforts by relocating future or long-term projects off siteContribute to the 6S initiative by improving organization and flow of materialsPre-pack pallets with panels to create "Basket Kits" for workflow efficiency in waterjet operationsStandardize, consolidate, organize, and properly label pallets and work-in-process materialsOperate material handling equipment including forklift trucks to move materials between departmentsDistribute materials to production areas and assembly lines as neededCollect, move, store, and deliver a wide range of materials including finished goodsFill orders from storage areas and stack pallets in designated locationsPerform inventory tracking and required recordkeeping activitiesUtilize FIFO (First In, First Out) methodology to manage material flowComplete required documentation for daily time tracking and production reportingMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environmentFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirements at all timesPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid Ohio driver's license requiredForklift operation and material handling experience required1–2 years of warehouse experience preferredPrevious experience in a metal manufacturing environment preferredIntermediate to advanced computer skills requiredExperience using databases and company applications requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) requiredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentA Generation Ahead by Design™ Investing in people who power the future.
