Medical Office Assistant

Pay Range: $20.00hr - $25.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Proficiency in scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
• Ability to handle prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
• Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
• Assist callers with routine inquiries and schedule appointments.
• Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records.
• Act as a lead user for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
• Provide assistance and training to others in administrative areas.
• Perform complex or specialized functions such as surgical scheduling and schedule changes.
• Provide functional guidance to Office and Practice Assistants.
• Oversee the daily activities of practice staff in conjunction with the Supervisor.
• Accept co-payments as required.
• Handle, screen, and take messages related to clinical inquiries and administrative tasks.

• Associate’s degree preferred.
