Provides instruction to patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.Job ResponsibilitiesInitiate and administer appropriate patient treatment, progressing as necessary and maintaining productivity standards.Evaluate patients accurately and plan appropriate treatment.Set and meet functional goals, revising and progressing treatment programs as goals are achieved.Maintain documentation by keeping accurate treatment records and completing daily patient charges promptly.Reflect time spent, procedures performed, and equipment used in patient charges accurately.Maintain technical expertise through continuing education and departmental in-services.Attend scheduled in-services and departmental meetings regularly.Provide instruction to patients, family members, and other healthcare providers, following care path guidelines for education and documentation of home programs.Assist with daily operations and responsibilities as appropriate, including scheduling and prioritizing work assignments.Delegate tasks to support personnel when appropriate.Assist with training of new employees and support P.T. observers, volunteers, and students.Make decisions under changing conditions, coordinate activities, and lead others in similar work.Work directly with patients, internal and external customers, and other healthcare professionals.Required Skills & ExperienceZero to six months of related experience.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and families.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Basic computer knowledge for data input and reporting.Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Effective reasoning ability and adaptability.Required EducationGraduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy.Required Certification & LicensureValid State Licensure or Temporary Letter of Authorization to practice Physical Therapy.BLS certification.
