District Support Pharmacist Part Time

Within our retail locations, our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence, acting as role models and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to cover pharmacist shifts as scheduled, serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by guiding the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist on duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same; demonstrate compassionate care, collaborate with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolve insurance and medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory, with a special focus on protecting cold‑chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continued education. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping requirements. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Ability to concentrate on a task over time. Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another. Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately. Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Utilize active listening, give full attention, ask appropriate questions, and not interrupt at inappropriate times. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve problems such as determining tablet counts, day’s supply, and bottle quantities. Problem Resolution Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best action from multiple options. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; use fingers. Move objects between low and high positions, bend at waist. Perform tasks requiring visual acuity; lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, frequently up to 10 lbs. Express or exchange ideas verbally with clarity. Receive detailed information through oral communication. Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Anticipated Weekly Hours 20 Time Type Part time Pay Range Typical pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour. Actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
