Nursing Assistant - Day Shift - 13 Weeks

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. This role emphasizes a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork while providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of patient safety and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform safe patient handling and maintain awareness of infectious disease control practices.
• Assist patients with menu selections compliant with prescribed diets, considering allergies and cultural preferences.
• Update and validate patient dietary changes in the menu management system.
• Communicate effectively with the department regarding patient care and food service issues.
• Perform clerical duties including filing, faxing, and answering phones within the Food & Nutrition office.
• Assist with trayline and food service as needed.
• Attend in-services and departmental meetings for continued education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CIRH ONLY unless otherwise required by state).

Schedule

This position is a Day shift with 3x12-hour shifts per week.
