Senior Scheduler (Transportation)
$140k - $198kCordoba-Corporation
Overview Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support major transportation, transit, and public infrastructure programs throughout the Pacific Northwest. The Senior Scheduler will develop, maintain, analyze, and communicate integrated project schedules spanning planning, design, procurement, construction, systems integration, testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and project closeout. This position requires an experienced scheduling professional who can identify emerging risks before they affect critical milestones and convert complex schedule data into clear, actionable reporting for nontechnical audiences, stakeholders, and executive decision-makers. The Senior Scheduler will work in a highly collaborative environment and maintain a close working relationship with the Cost Estimator to align scope, schedule, cost, resources, risk, cash flow, and forecasting. Responsibilities Develop and maintain integrated master schedules using Primavera P6 for large, complex transportation and public infrastructure programs. Establish scheduling standards, work breakdown structures, coding conventions, calendars, activity logic, milestones, constraints, and reporting cycles. Develop baseline schedules that align project scope, delivery strategy, contract requirements, budgets, resources, risks, and key commitments. Integrate schedules across planning, environmental review, permitting, design, right-of-way, utility coordination, procurement, construction, systems installation, testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and closeout. Perform critical-path, near-critical-path, float, milestone, schedule-variance, and trend analyses. Identify schedule risks, constraints, dependencies, and interface conflicts before they affect critical activities or contractual milestones. Facilitate schedule-development, update, and recovery-planning workshops with project managers, technical leads, consultants, contractors, and client representatives. Review contractor and consultant schedules for completeness, logic, sequencing, constructability, resource assumptions, contractual compliance, and overall reasonableness. Evaluate schedule updates, progress, productivity, earned value, forecasts, and changes to anticipated completion dates. Develop schedule-recovery options, corrective-action plans, mitigation strategies, and what-if scenarios. Perform time-impact analyses and support the evaluation of change orders, delay events, claims, requests for equitable adjustment, and extension-of-time requests. Support quantitative schedule risk analysis, including risk modeling, confidence-level forecasting, and Monte Carlo analysis when required. Work closely with the Cost Estimator to reconcile schedule activities with estimate assumptions, quantities, productivity rates, escalation, contingency, resource requirements, and cash-flow forecasts. Integrate schedule and cost information to support accurate forecasting, earned-value analysis, change management, and overall project-performance reporting. Enter, maintain, validate, and report project information using Primavera Unifier or comparable project-management information systems. Develop clear dashboards, visualizations, and performance reports using Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel functionality. Prepare executive summaries, schedule narratives, milestone reports, trend reports, look-ahead schedules, and other decision-support materials. Translate complex schedule findings into concise, understandable information for nontechnical audiences, stakeholders, project sponsors, and executive decision-makers. Lead collaborative schedule-review meetings and communicate schedule impacts, tradeoffs, risks, and recommended actions. Maintain accurate schedule documentation, assumptions, basis-of-schedule materials, update records, and audit trails. Support project-controls procedures, schedule governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Mentor schedulers and other project-controls professionals and provide technical guidance regarding scheduling standards and best practices. Perform additional project-controls and program-management responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, planning, business, or a related discipline. Relevant additional experience may be considered in place of a degree. Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible scheduling or project-controls experience supporting complex capital projects. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules in Primavera P6. Experience supporting transportation, transit, rail, aviation, utilities, heavy civil, or comparable public infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of project-delivery phases, construction sequencing, schedule logic, critical-path methodology, and project-controls practices. Experience reviewing contractor schedules, schedule updates, change impacts, and recovery plans. Experience coordinating schedule information with cost estimates, budgets, risk registers, resource plans, and cash-flow forecasts. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, lookups, data analysis, and reporting. Proficiency with Primavera Unifier or a comparable project-management information system. Experience developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI. Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, cost information, project-management plans, and technical documentation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities in a task-order or multi-project environment. Excellent analytical, facilitation, collaboration, presentation, technical-writing, and reporting skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to nontechnical audiences, stakeholders, and executive decision-makers. Ability to build productive working relationships with cost estimators, project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and client teams. Preferred Qualifications: Ten or more years of scheduling and project-controls experience on major transportation or public infrastructure programs. Experience supporting transit, commuter rail, light rail, bus rapid transit, highway, bridge, tunnel, or other complex transportation projects. Experience working within an owner’s project-management, construction-management, or program-management organization. Experience with Sound Transit or other Pacific Northwest public agencies. Experience with resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules, earned-value analysis, and cash-flow forecasting. Experience performing time-impact analysis, forensic schedule analysis, delay analysis, or claims support. Experience conducting quantitative schedule risk analysis and Monte Carlo simulations. Experience with alternative delivery methods, including design-build, progressive design-build, and general contractor/construction manager delivery. Experience integrating Primavera P6, Primavera Unifier, Power BI, Excel, and other project-controls systems into a coordinated reporting environment.
