Coordinator for Student Support and Outreach – Arrupe College Job Summary: The Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success at Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago. The role participates in university‑wide mental health and wellness meetings, provides outreach and support to Arrupe students on non‑academic issues that affect their success, and collaborates with faculty, staff and administration to develop programming that stabilizes external factors impacting learning. Duties and Responsibilities Provide short‑ and long‑term case management support to Arrupe College students regarding non‑academic issues. Serve as primary case manager for Arrupe CARE cases. Create and collaborate on wellness programming and initiatives. Support major programming initiatives within the Office of Student Services, including the Spirit of Arrupe Summer Orientation, spirituality programming, mental health, and wellness initiatives. Identify and refer students to public or private social service, community, and government agencies; engage appropriate follow‑up on referrals. Act as liaison between the university, families, and community resources. Manage the Arrupe Market, the Water Tower Campus food pantry. Maintain university records and provide written reports and communications. Participate in educational planning processes. Respond to immediate student needs and concerns as they arise. Serve as primary contact for Arrupe students living in residence life and facilitate the application and selection process for the residence life program. Supervise 1‑2 Community Assistants within the residence life program. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Master’s Degree in a related field and 2–3 years of case management experience. Qualifications Residence life and/or higher education experience preferred. Experience working with students, individuals with exceptional needs, and people of color; culturally competent. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills. Superior problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities. Ability to work and respond in a constantly changing and adaptable work environment. Forward and creative thinking. Workshop facilitation experience preferred. Knowledge of Jesuit higher education ideals and practices preferred. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Certificates/Credentials/Licenses None required. Computer Skills Proficient with MS Office suite and online‑hosted programs for entering and managing documentation; ability to learn and use instructional and administrative programs such as LOCUS, Sakai, and Business Intelligence Reports. Supervisory Responsibilities None required. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Irrregular hours; occasional evening and weekend work. No direct animal or patient contact. Physical demands: none.
