Job Title: Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Urology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: Urology experience (1 year minimum), EPIC experience preferred Description: In a clinical setting, the nurse will provide care to adult patients. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Routine and complex care will be provided, with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. The nurse will continue to develop their ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. They will make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting the expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the scope and standards of practice, the nurse will provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. They will address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, the nurse administers medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documentation of patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given is required. The nurse will assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
