Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students as an Occupational Therapist for a five-week maternity leave assignment. This full-time contract role runs from August 4, 2026, to September 4, 2026, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule comprising eight-hour workdays. You’ll become an integral resource in helping students achieve their individual goals and maximize their potential in a vibrant and collaborative school community near Saint Johns, FL.
What you bring:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist licensure
- Experience with elementary and/or middle school-aged children
- Previous work in a school-based or pediatric OT setting preferred
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet a diverse range of student needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork with teachers and support staff
Your role and responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to assigned elementary and middle school students
- Evaluate incoming student referrals and conduct thorough assessments
- Develop and implement targeted intervention plans tailored to student goals
- Maintain detailed records of progress, ensuring timely documentation
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and other therapists to ensure cohesive support
- Participate in relevant IEP meetings as required
- Adapt to school protocols, policies, and procedures while promoting student success
