Academic Family Medicine Physician ' Associate Professor

An established, mission-driven community healthcare organization in Clearwater, Florida is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician to join and help expand its Family Medicine Residency Program.

This newly created position is due to program expansion and offers an excellent opportunity for a physician passionate about Graduate Medical Education, teaching, mentoring and resident development while maintaining a limited outpatient clinical practice.

The position is approximately 60% academic and 40% clinical , includes an Associate Professor title , and offers the potential for a future leadership role within the residency program.

Academic Responsibilities

The physician will serve as core faculty and play an integral role in the education and professional development of Family Medicine residents.

Responsibilities include teaching, mentoring and precepting residents; providing direct clinical supervision; participating in didactic and case-based education; evaluating resident performance; providing timely and constructive feedback; and supporting curriculum development and continuous program improvement.

Faculty members also participate in scholarly activity, quality improvement initiatives and faculty development while working closely with residency leadership to support program objectives and ACGME requirements .

Clinical Responsibilities

Approximately 40% of the position is devoted to direct patient care in an outpatient Family Medicine setting.

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care, including preventive medicine, acute care and chronic disease management. When scheduled in clinic, physicians typically see approximately 22'26 patients per day .

The clinical practice is entirely outpatient with no inpatient responsibilities , and physicians work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care environment utilizing Epic EMR .

Telephone call is extremely limited at approximately once every six months .

Compensation

• Competitive Base salary, negotiable depending on experience.
• Higher base salary may be available depending on background, training and experience
• Up to $30,000 annual incentive bonus
• Potential annual compensation of $230,000+
• Additional base compensation may be considered for highly qualified candidates

Student Loan Repayment

The position is eligible for both Florida REACH/FRAME and National Health Service Corps (NHSC) student loan repayment programs.

Depending on individual eligibility and applicable program requirements, physicians may qualify for up to $225,000 in student loan repayment assistance .

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Active and unrestricted Florida Medical License , or eligibility to obtain one
• Board Certified in Family Medicine
• Approximately three years of Graduate Medical Education experience preferred
• Previous experience teaching, mentoring, precepting or supervising Family Medicine residents is highly desirable
• Strong interest in academic medicine and resident development
