Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $2,612 a week in all, a taxable rate of $28.60 an hour plus $1,582 a week in housing and meal stipends.

Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular. This travel nursing position provides critical care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with complex cardiovascular, neurological, surgical, and medical conditions. The role requires experienced cardiovascular intensive care nursing, flexibility to float across multiple clinical areas, and availability for night shifts and weekend coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience, including at least 1 recent year in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Coronary Care Unit, or Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit; previous CVICU experience in work history; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; at least 1 year of Epic experience; travel nursing experience; proficiency in arterial line management, blood product administration, central and peripherally inserted central catheter care, continuous sedation, cardiac and vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management, noninvasive ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia management, intravenous insulin protocols, renal replacement therapy, intra-aortic balloon pump and Impella support, cardiac surgery recovery, infection prevention, isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and surgical wound care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma intensive care experience and experience with advanced cardiac critical care procedures, including continuous renal replacement therapy, transvenous and epicardial pacing, pulmonary artery catheter monitoring, therapeutic temperature management, and ventricular assist devices.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Patient assignments are typically two patients per nurse. Floating may include the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Neurotrauma Intensive Care Unit, telemetry, acute care, observation, and emergency department boarding. Clinical populations and conditions may include open-heart surgery, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, trauma, neurological conditions, respiratory distress, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, overdose, and postoperative surgical care. Unit procedures may include chest tube insertion, central line and peripherally inserted central catheter placement, bedside tracheostomy, intraosseous access, intubation, massive transfusion support, emergency response support, and cardiac cooling procedures. Weekend availability is required.
