Information System Security Officer

Cyber threats are everywhere and constantly evolving, making it hard for military organizations to understand and mitigate risks. As an Information Security Risk Specialist on our team, you’ll work with government and military leaders to assess cyber risks, develop mitigation plans, and translate security concepts into actionable guidance. This role combines deep subject‑matter expertise with practical cybersecurity implementation, helping secure mission‑critical systems. Responsibilities Work with client leaders to discover cyber risks and develop mitigation plans. Review technical, environmental, and personnel details from SMEs to assess the entire threat landscape. Guide clients through plans of action with presentations, white papers, and milestones. Translate security concepts to non‑technical audiences to enable informed decisions. Qualifications 3+ years of experience with Cybersecurity, IA, and JWICS accreditation support, DoD IA RMF, DCID 6/3, or ICD 503. 3+ years of experience developing and presenting technical information to non‑technical audiences. Experience implementing and supporting cyber security policies and procedures for network environments. Experience determining security requirements for hardware, software, and services acquisitions specific to IA security programs. Experience with DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs), checklists, and testing tools, including Gold Disk, SRR scripts, SCAP, and Retina Nessus/ACAS scanning tool. Knowledge of DoD and intelligence community IA and security laws, regulations, and policies, including mandates. Knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS). TS/SCI clearance. IAM II Certification. Nice To Have Knowledge to prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and SOPs concerning network system operations. Knowledge to recommend resource allocations required to securely operate and maintain an organization’s IA requirements. Knowledge of FISMA and reporting requirements. Ability to review IA security plans. Ability to identify alternative functional IA security strategies to address organizational security concerns. Ability to review selected security safeguards to ensure concerns identified in the approved plan are addressed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. IAM III Certification. Clearance and Eligibility Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required. Compensation Salary range: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD).
