Registered Dental Hygienist A Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is a licensed oral health professional who provides preventive, therapeutic, and educational services to improve patient oral health. Key duties include removing plaque/tartar, taking X-rays, performing screenings, applying sealants/fluoride, and educating patients on oral hygiene. They work in dental offices under dentist supervision, emphasizing patient comfort and infection control. Core Responsibilities Clinical Care: Perform scaling, root planing, and polishing to remove tartar and stains. Diagnostics: Take, develop, and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays). Preventive Treatments: Apply fluoride, sealants, and other cavity-preventive agents. Patient Education: Teach proper brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques. Assessment: Screen patients for oral diseases (e.g., gingivitis, periodontal disease) and review medical history. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and chart findings for the dentist. Safety & Sterilization: Adhere to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures. Pay $40~$50 per hour Salary Details - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
