As a Van Driver Substitute, you'll play an important role in helping people we support with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely get to and from programs, services, and activities. This as-needed position is a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible schedule while making a meaningful difference in their community.

Location: Hudson, NY

Schedule: As needed based on transportation coverage needs

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport people we support to and from agency programs and other locations as needed.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle as necessary.
• Ensure passengers are safely secured using seat belts and wheelchair tie-downs, when applicable.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable environment for all passengers.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes and promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and ensure adequate fuel and fluids for assigned routes.
• Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, agency policies, and transportation safety procedures.
• Complete required transportation documentation and promptly report accidents, delays, or incidents.
• Remain flexible and be available to provide substitute coverage for transportation routes as needed.
• Participate in required training and maintain all necessary certifications.

Qualifications:

Education: High School / GED or better.

Experience: Two years of driving experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications: Drivers License
