Unit-Based Nurse Educator – 6 Central Transplant Unit Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator for its 38-bed Transplant Unit in the 6 Central location. Position Overview The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central Transplant Unit, working with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Facilitate orientation for new transplant unit nursing staff. Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory and competency-based training. Provide education related to transplant care and advanced surgical recovery. Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development. Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives. Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice. Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning. Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Minimum of three years of cardiac specialty nursing experience. Experience with liver and kidney transplants, urology procedures, colorectal surgeries, and bariatric surgeries. Preferred Qualifications 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development. Traits for Success Strong knowledge of evidence‑based nursing practice. Base hourly wage range: $38.11 – $98.23 (additional compensation may be earned through shift differentials, call pay, and overtime).
