In certain jurisdictions, CBIZ CPAs operates under its previous name, Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required8 years of experience in public accounting or related field5 years supervisoryAbility to manage all aspects of client engagementsAbility to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessaryDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externallyProficient use of applicable technologyAvailability to travel based on business needsEssential Functions and Primary DutiesOversee engagement teams and manage all aspects of client engagements, ensuring exceptional service delivery to assigned clientsServe as a trusted advisor to clients; supervise and review monthly closes and all deliverables, including financial statements, annual budgets, and audit preparationsDevelop a deep understanding of each client’s operations, systems, procedures, and internal controls to deliver tailored solutions and insightful guidanceDemonstrate a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and commitment to quality in the completion of all client deliverables within deadlinesTake ownership of client billing upon becoming familiar with engagement scope and budgeted hours; monitor job progress and analyze overruns, present recommendations for additional billing to the Managing DirectorParticipate in new client development activities alongside upper management, including attending prospect meetings, contributing to presentations and proposals, and identifying cross-selling opportunitiesActively cultivate all sales leads and convert prospects to new clients, ushering them through the onboarding processProactively identify and address financial or operational challenges for clients, offering practical recommendations and solutionsAssist with the selection, implementation, and integration of accounting software and complementary third-party systems (e.g., payroll, POS, time & billing) as neededFoster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, supporting management initiatives and promoting a positive organizational cultureTrain and supervise senior and staff accountants, ensuring objectives are accomplished efficiently and effectively; provide hands-on support as requiredExecute other responsibilities and special projects as assignedPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in accounting, taxation or related fieldActive CPA or equivalent certificationSignificant experience with cloud-based accounting and business systems (e.g., QBO, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Yardi, BILL, Ramp, Gusto, Avalara), including remote collaboration toolsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including CoPilot.Demonstrated ability and willingness to apply AI tools to maximize efficiency across engagements, where applicablePosting Date: 2026-07-29
