Assistant Coach, Men’s Basketball Pay Rate: $1,000 - $5,000 stipend (prorated based on start date) Requisition Number: AS994P Position Type: Coaches Position Summary: This position supports the Head Coach with day‑to‑day operations of the NJCAA team at Frederick Community College. The Assistant Coach works under the guidance of the Head Coach, is supervised by the Director of Athletics, meets the travel demands of the athletic schedule, and works effectively with a diverse community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach to meet the needs of the position. Instruct student athletes regarding rules of the sport, rule changes, and innovative ideas. Help recruit academically and athletically qualified prospective student athletes. Work evenings and weekends as necessary. Observe and evaluate all aspects of student athletes in training and competition and develop coaching plans with the Head Coach to meet individual needs. Monitor academic performance and progress of student athletes to ensure compliance with college and NJCAA rules. Work with the FCC Foundation in fundraising activities. Assist with game day management as directed by the Head Coach. Develop scouting reports. Possess knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NJCAA and Maryland JUCO rules and regulations. Hold CPR/First Aid certification. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Director of Athletics, and/or Assistant Director of Athletics. Required Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of coaching or playing experience at the high school or collegiate level. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration, Education, Physical Education, or Recreation. Two (2) years of college coaching experience. Demonstrated experience as a positive role model to student athletes. Work Schedule: Varies Full/Part Time: Part Time Telework Eligible? No Essential Personnel?
