The University of Chicago's Department of Radiology seeks full-time faculty members at 100% effort in the School of Medicine track for renewable terms. Appointees will have responsibilities that include interpretation of all aspects of emergency radiology diagnostic examinations and will join our team of emergency radiologists, extending an existing evening shift. This is a fully remote position, with clinical responsibilities performed via teleradiology. Education and scholarly activities are expected. Work shifts will be primarily nights and weekends. The anticipated clinical schedule is 7 days on clinical service and 14 days off clinical service. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. As well as an anticipated annual incentive payment between $30,000 to $75,000 based on work schedule. These positions are benefits-eligible. Appointees will contribute primarily to clinical care in a high-acuity emergency radiology setting, with additional participation in education and scholarly activity consistent with the School of Medicine track. Educational contributions may include supervision and teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in the clinical environment. Scholarly activity may include quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocol development, educational innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, or participation in clinical research, with mentorship and institutional support available to foster growth in these areas. A substantial prior record of funded research is not required. The University of Chicago Medical Center is a designated Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and includes a nationally recognized burn unit. The Department of Radiology comprises more than 80 full-time faculty members, clinical associates, and researchers. In addition to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, faculty engage in clinical, translational, and educational scholarship within a highly collaborative academic environment. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, and 3) be American Board certified or Board eligible in Radiology. We especially welcome applicants with prior experience as an emergency radiology attending in high-volume, high-acuity settings, emergency radiology fellowship training or equivalent experience. Basic pediatric emergency radiology skills are also preferred.
