Medical Assistant

Summary Support physicians in delivering exceptional patient care while providing outstanding customer service to patients and the healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Assist with direct patient care activities, including obtaining patient histories and vital signs, verifying medications, preparing charts, managing documentation, tracking lab results, and conducting pre-visit planning. Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, rapid strep testing, urine dip testing, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and other routine diagnostic services. Administer vaccines and medications as ordered. Educate patients on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care within established guidelines. Coordinate and monitor urgent referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care. Review quality and care-gap reports to support patient outcomes and maintain performance standards. Maintain adequate inventory of medications and medical supplies. Monitor and document vaccine storage temperatures in compliance with Department of Health regulations. Adhere to infection control, safety, environmental, OSHA, and Department of Health standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies to protect patient information. Deliver a high standard of customer service and patient experience. Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workflow improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Medical Assistant certification preferred.
