Team Lead - Australia Accounting

Role & responsibilities Lead and manage a team of bookkeepers, ensuring they provide high‑quality bookkeeping services. Monitor the daily operations of the team, ensuring all transactions and reports are handled efficiently. Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards. Review and approve financial reports, reconciling accounts, and performing regular audits. Liaise with clients to discuss financial matters, provide updates, and resolve any concerns. Provide training and development to team members to improve performance and skillsets. Develop and implement best practices and processes for the team to improve productivity and accuracy. Troubleshoot and resolve any accounting discrepancies or errors. Set and monitor individual and team KPIs to ensure performance targets are met. Preferred candidate profile In‑depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax laws (GST, BAS, income tax, payroll tax, and superannuation). Address and resolve financial discrepancies or challenges that may arise. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, team members, and regulatory bodies. Handling client queries and providing resolutions promptly and professionally. Ability to adapt to new financial tools, technologies, and regulatory changes. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team. Ability to solve problems efficiently and think analytically. Experience in managing a team in a remote or distributed environment is a plus.
