RN - Float Pool, Part Time

Position Part‑Time Registered Nurse – Float Pool, Night Shift (2 shifts per week, 12‑hour nights) Schedule & Units Two nights per week, 7PM – 7AM Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units (based on facility needs) Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday Benefits Up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus Medical and dental insurance starting the first of the month after hire PTO accrues beginning Day1 Tuition reimbursement up to $7,500 annually after 90 days Shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends 403B retirement plan with matching Free on‑site parking Job Summary Responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards and adhering to GCMC’s compliance policies. Essential Functions Perform patient assessment and document accurately and timely. Conduct nursing admission assessment thoroughly within the required timeframe. Perform skin risk assessment and reassessment as per policy. Perform pain assessment and reassessment, utilizing approved pain scales. Monitor patients’ vital signs and conditions per protocol, documenting appropriately. Recognize changes in patient condition and report to charge nurse or physician. Call the CAT team for patients meeting criteria. Ensure patient safety by following all policies related to National Patient Safety Goals and other relevant standards. Experience & Qualifications Preferred: One year of medical/surgical experience. Entry level acceptable: Graduate with required education. Specialty units preferred: At least one year of experience in ICU, maternity, or psychiatric units. Current NYS license to perform as a registered professional nurse. Current BLS/CPR certification required (or within 30 days of employment). Specialty certification: Maternity – neonatal resuscitation within 6 months of employment; ICU – ACLS within 6 months of hire.
