Planning Intern

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking a Planning Intern to support our planning team in our Loveland, CO office. This paid internship provides hands-on experience on real-world planning projects and offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced planners, project managers, and technical professionals. Essential Job Functions:
- Support Wilson & Company’s planning team on a variety of transportation, community planning, land use, environmental, and public engagement projects.
- Perform research, data collection, mapping, graphics, presentation, and technical writing support for planning studies and client deliverables.
- Assist project managers and senior planners with project tasks, meeting preparation, public engagement materials, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal team members and project partners to help develop planning solutions that support communities and their future built environment.
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects while gaining exposure to Wilson & Company’s culture, clients, and professional planning practices.
- Work under the direct supervision of senior planning staff while demonstrating professionalism, technical curiosity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Participate in a flexible, paid internship opportunity that may support future full-time employment consideration upon graduation.
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate as a junior, senior, or graduate student in planning, urban planning, regional planning, geography, environmental studies, public administration, civil engineering, landscape architecture, or a related field.
- Interest in transportation planning, community planning, land use, environmental planning, public engagement, or related planning disciplines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to commute to and from school and the office, work in an office environment, and maintain a sustainable balance between school, internship, and personal demands.
- Experience with ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, graphic production, presentations, or technical writing is preferred.
