Dietitian Associate

RD Associate – Role Overview An RD Associate is a registered dietitian with less than one year of clinical experience who is licensed to practice. This role does not require prior dialysis experience, but the RD must work under the supervision and guidance of a qualified renal dietitian. Per CMS regulations, an RD Associate cannot independently perform patient assessments, develop plans of care, conduct family health management, or provide home modality support. Responsibilities include partnering closely with the Division Lead RD to support patient care and learning. A qualified renal RD with over one year of experience must “job‑share” and provide oversight until the RD Associate meets the one‑year clinical experience requirement.
