About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and creative teacher to lead a class of pre-K students in a variety of engaging learning activities. Your primary goal is to prepare these young learners for kindergarten by teaching essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

A successful pre-K teacher should possess a warm and patient demeanor, as well as the energy to inspire and motivate their students. You should be able to develop lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of each child, while also possessing strong administrative skills to execute these plans effectively.

What You'll Do

• Designing and implementing a curriculum that meets the educational requirements of pre-K students, incorporating core subjects such as mathematics, language, and social skills.
• Utilizing various teaching methods, including arts and crafts, storytelling, and hands-on activities, to foster a love of learning in young children.
• Monitoring and encouraging social interactions among students, while promoting a sense of respect and discipline within the classroom.
• Supervising students during non-academic periods, such as lunchtime and recess, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and preparing materials and workspaces for class activities.
• Communicating with parents to stay informed about each child's life outside of school, and providing regular progress reports to keep them updated on their child's development.
• Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of each student.
• Building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Staying up-to-date with educational trends and best practices to continuously improve teaching methods and outcomes.

Requirements

• Ability to educate with age-appropriate language and teaching methods.
• Ability to stand as a positive role model for impressionable minds.
• Mediation skills for resolving conflicts between children.
• Patience, optimism, compassion, enthusiasm, and empathy.
• Familiarity using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Past experience teaching children in the pre-kindergarten age group.
• Creative mindset to plan innovative, exciting lessons.
