Product Strategy Senior Director

My client is growing and in need of an experienced Director of Product Management and Strategy.The perfect candidate will be responsible for P&L, leading commercialization, and acting as the strategic advocate for customers in the life sciences research industry.They should possess a strong executive presence, gain respect from highly technical engineering teams, and demonstrate both quantitative rigor and commercial intuition.Key responsibilities include:Strategic LeadershipDevelop product strategy, roadmap, and business cases for a portfolio of instruments and softwareTake full ownership of P&L, including revenue and growth targetsLead research on customer needs and market trendsEstablish and guide a talented product management teamProduct DevelopmentCollaborate with R&D and Engineering as a knowledgeable technical peer, engaging deeply on requirements and specificationsDrive integration of hardware and software for superior user experienceDefine technical roadmaps and address cybersecurity concerns for connected platformsExperience in optical detection systems, fluidics, or laboratory automation is a plusCommercial ExecutionCraft positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategiesLead product launches, sales enablement, and competitive analysisCollaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Field teams on customer interactionsEnsure regulatory compliance (FDA, CE, ISO 13485)QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Life Sciences, advanced degree preferred12+ years in product management for life sciences capital equipment or software5+ years of experience in managing teamsDemonstrated P&L ownership and successful product launchesDeep understanding of analytical instruments and laboratory softwareStrong quantitative, financial modeling, and communication skills20–25% travel requiredThis position is located in Maryland.
