This rewarding contract position is situated in a vibrant elementary school environment, focusing on students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. You’ll play a pivotal role as the lead teacher within a supportive and collaborative team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum
• Deep understanding of best practices in special education and behavior management
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Creativity, flexibility, and patience in adapting materials and approaches to diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead teacher in an elementary autistic support classroom
• Develop, implement, and track progress of IEPs for assigned students
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment supporting social and emotional growth
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to suit student abilities and needs
• Collaborate closely with support staff, related service providers, and administration
• Maintain open, ongoing communication with families and caregivers
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary to support success

This full-time schedule, running from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, provides consistency, structure, and plenty of time to make a real difference in your students’ lives.
