Our Mission to Do What's Right underscores our commitment to integrity, ethical behavior, and making decisions that are in the best interest of our clients, associates, and communities.Position DescriptionThe HVAC Controls Estimator is responsible for reviewing project documents, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and time required for HVAC control systems. This role analyzes project requirements, selects appropriate control hardware and system solutions, and prepares detailed estimates and supporting documentation to guide profitable business decisions. The Estimator collaborates closely with customers, project managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy, compliance with specifications, and clear communication throughout the estimating process.Education and ExperienceAssociates or Bachelor's degree in engineering, or three (3) to five (5) years of experience in estimating, engineering, or controls field experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of HVAC equipment and building automation control systems.Familiarity with financial and project management principles.Excellent math and analytical skills.Efficient use of the Windows operating system & MS Office suite.Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.Must clearly communicate in verbal and written form.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed cost estimates, scope definitions, exceptions/exclusions, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by onsite visits, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.Prepare estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.Coordinate with contractors, owners, and engineers on project designs.Work closely with Account ManagersOther DutiesParticipate in meetings and training as assigned, for the purpose of obtaining information related to the company or to performing/improving job knowledge and performance.Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department and/or company.Special Job and Physical RequirementsMust be able to pass a background check and drug screenMust be able to travel locally and possess a valid driver's license with no major violationsAbility to sit for extended periods while working at a computer and reviewing project documentationFrequent use of computers, calculators, and standard office equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, blueprints, and specificationsOccasional standing, walking, bending, and reachingWill require occasional travel to job sites for walkthroughs, meetings, or project reviewsAbility to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractorsMust be able to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsMedical with competitive rates and deductible reimbursementPaid Dental/VisionPaid Vacation starting at 10 days per year8 Paid Sick Days per year8 Hours of Paid Volunteer time off per yearPaid Basic Life Insurance401k Match and Profit ShareTechnical and Leadership Training OpportunitiesVoluntary Life InsuranceVoluntary Short- and Long-Term DisabilityVoluntary Accident and Critical Illness InsuranceJoin Our Growing Team Today!Waibel Energy Systems, Leading the Way to Make Building Work Better, Together.
