Since its founding in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) has been providing family-centered behavioral healthcare for women, children, and families. As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment, and housing.
Job Summary
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Queen of Peace Center, is seeking a Recovery Coach to support the Engaging Patients in Care Coordination (EPICC) Project. The recover coach is a Peer Support Specialist and will engage individuals affected by opioid use disorder, providing peer-based recovery support, and facilitating timely access to treatment and community resources. This position conducts field-based outreach throughout the Greater St. Louis region, builds relationships with clients and service providers, removes barriers to care, and promotes sustained recovery engagement. The Recovery Coach is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, completing required client follow-up activities, participating in a collaborative care network, and contributing to equitable and person-centered service delivery. This position requires flexibility to support rotating on-call coverage and rapid response outreach needs. This position does require previous experience as a recipient of substance use treatment services with a minimum of 2 years in personal recovery from substance use disorder, must be at least 21 years of age, meet the minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or GED, and must obtain a Peer Specialist Certificate within 30 days of hire. The top canididate will also have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and current auto insurance. The starting hourly wage is $19 per hour with the opportunity to increase based on experience and meeting preferred qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct community, hospital, emergency department, and street-based outreach to individuals impacted by opioid use disorder and provide peer support, recovery coaching, and treatment navigation.
- Facilitate referrals and connections to treatment, recovery support services, and community resources while addressing barriers to treatment engagement and long-term recovery.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, treatment providers, and community partners to ensure successful service linkage, admission, and continuity of care.
- Complete required client follow-ups and status updates at established intervals (2 weeks, 30 days, 3 months, and 6 months) to support engagement and re-engagement efforts.
- Accurately document all outreach activities, referrals, client contacts, and outcomes in the FamCare database within one business day.
- Participate in case reviews, debriefings, and regular meetings with program leadership to discuss client engagement strategies, documentation compliance, and program performance.
- Provide outreach response within established timeframes while supporting rotating on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and travel throughout the Greater St. Louis region.
- Adhere to program policies, regulatory requirements, HIPAA standards, mandated reporting obligations, and evidence-based recovery practices, including support for medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
- Provide transportation assistance through rideshare to clients, as authorized, to support access to treatment services, recovery support programs, medical appointments, and other recovery-related resources while adhering to agency policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Attend ministry supervision and staff meetings as scheduled.
Job Requirements
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED. Minimum age of 21 years of age.
- Missouri Peer Specialist Certification at hire or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum two (2) years in personal recovery from substance use disorder.
- Previous experience as a recipient of substance use treatment services required.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance. Ability to travel throughout the Greater St. Louis region, including multiple counties.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call, evening, and weekend rotations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, mandated reporting requirements, crisis response principles, and medications used in the treatment of substance use disorders preferred.
