Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Maternal Child Health is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients. This role involves collaborating with unit leadership to follow nursing practice standards and includes observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families, recognizing normal parameters and deviations in their status.
• Develop and prioritize care plans using a person-centered approach, involving patients and families in establishing care goals.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills in clinical decision-making and interventions.
• Implement and maintain competence in technical nursing skills.
• Act as a resource for peers and facilitate coordination with other health team members.
• Float to other departments as needed, including Labor and Delivery, L&D OR/PACU, Post Partum, and NICU.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Labor and Delivery experience required; postpartum experience preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse license and compliance with all certification requirements.
