Contract | Variable (Days/Nights) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Minimum 50–70% Night Shift | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs for Labor and Delivery patients.
• Document patient care accurately in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Float as needed 0–3 times per month; floating from OB involves helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work.
• Promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach with patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license or pending Alaska state licensure (proof of application required at submission; start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed).
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.
• Willingness to work a variable shift schedule with week-minimum stretches between day and night shifts, with at least 50–70% night shift expected.
• Willingness to work an equitable number of weekend shifts per schedule period.
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Epic EMR experience, particularly within the past year.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Experience floating within a health system or across multiple care settings.
