Clinic Nurse

The Clinic Nurse plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within both medical and behavioral health settings. This position is responsible for assisting providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient/client flow. The Clinical staff perform routine administrative and clinical tasks and helps ensure positive care experiences for all patients/clients at the Family Health Center. This is a Tuesday-Friday position at our Washington Ave location. Hours Tuesday-8A-630P Thursday-8A-630P Friday-8A-3P Essential Functions Prepare exam rooms and patients for provider visits, procedures, and treatments Obtain and review medical histories, medications, vital signs, and other health information Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort Administer medications as directed by licensed providers, in accordance with scope of practice Perform basic laboratory tests Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations and medication calls as needed Maintain neat and clean work and storage areas, specifically supplies Complies with all regulatory, state, and federal regulations as well as FHC policies and procedures Obtains and maintains required competencies for the role Performs other duties as assigned. Work-Related Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in primary care, mental health, or integrated healthcare setting preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment Mental Demands Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations, such as medical emergencies or crisis interventions. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in dynamic patient care settings. Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities. Emotional resilience when working with patients experiencing crisis, trauma, or chronic illnesses. Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of patients or equipment (up to 20 lbs). Ability to perform repetitive motions, including typing for EHR documentation. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching to provide patient care. Dexterity to perform hands-on procedures such as injections and diagnostic testing. Occasional exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials; adherence to infection control protocols is required. Prolonged sitting at a desk with frequent computer use. Working Conditions Clinical environment with exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally challenging patient cases. Education, Certification, and Licensure Licensure: Must have a valid LPN/RN from an accredited program. Skills Ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients.
