Forensic Services Division

Qualified Forensic Evaluator (QFE)

Overview: This position will serve as a member of the Forensic Services Division staff and will provide forensic competency evaluations and reevaluations as assigned within their region with the possibility of statewide assignment. Evaluations will occur via telehealth as well as in person at county jails in addition to any ODMHSAS restoration program. The incumbent chosen must complete the required initial evaluator training and successfully complete the QFE process as outlined by the ODMHSAS OFE policy. Incumbent must also abide by all QFE regulations in reporting, deadlines and record keeping.

  • Salary: Starting at $70,000.00 with an increase to $73,000.00 once trained as a QFE.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Primary Working Hours are M-F; 8-5
  • Hybrid: Primary remote, in-state travel as necessary to complete evaluations in person.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with a justice involved or forensic population.
  • Ability to navigate telehealth platforms.
  • Working knowledge of the Oklahoma adult criminal justice system including navigating the Oklahoma Supreme Court Network (OSCN).
  • Ability to work with county jail systems to schedule and complete timely evaluations.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Professional writing skills with previous experience writing detailed evaluations, admissions or intake documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Oklahoma’s crisis criteria statute, O.S. 43A 1 -103.
  • Experience in evaluating and diagnosing mental health and substance use disorders according to the most recent DSM (DSM-5, DSM-5-TR)
  • Successful completion of the ODMHSAS 2 ½ day initial evaluator training.
  • Completed a minimum of at least 15 initial and/or reevaluations.
  • Current and active Behavioral Health Licensure; LPC or LCSW.
  • Licensure candidates under supervision will not be considered.
  • A minimum of one year practicing experience outside of licensure supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, human relations, clinical/direct practice social work, or a closely related field which must include one semester of at least three hundred hours of applied clinical practicum in psychology or counseling, plus two years of post-master’s experience providing professional counseling services, and must hold a current license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Behavior Practitioner (LBP), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NSCP); Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA),
  • Or a doctorate in psychology or education with a specialty in clinical, counseling, educational, developmental or school psychology, including one academic year of full time pre-doctoral internship from an accredited program listed by the American Psychological Association at the time of completion.
