Job Description:

ATR International is seeking a Senior Facilities Specialist on behalf of our client, Medtronic, Inc., located in Minneapolis, MN.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, designs, and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
• Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion dates, and construction feasibility.
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
• Reviews and estimates design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
• Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

About This Role:

This is a Specialist Career Stream position — typically an individual contributor role within a professional discipline. The Senior Facilities Specialist works independently under limited supervision, coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level specialists, and may manage projects or processes. The role involves significant interaction with senior internal and external stakeholders and vendors, and contributes to process improvements through in-depth analysis and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of facilities planning/engineering, combining breadth and depth of expertise.
• Practical project management knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with experience influencing decision-making among senior stakeholders.
