Paint Line Person (Painter) – 1st Shift – Ellsworth, KSGreat Plains Manufacturing is seeking a 1st Shift Paint Line Person to join our team in Ellsworth, KS.This position works Monday to Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with overtime on Fridays, as required.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Load Paint lines safely to maximum capacity per the Daily Production Requirements listLearn all aspects of prepping unfinished parts for final topcoatDownload painted parts safely & ensure correct part identification and delivery to correct location to maintain inventory accuracyInspect painted parts at the unload station for any quality defectsAppropriately pack painted parts to ensure arrival to customer in good conditionAdapt to all paint line duties, including Load, Prep, Unload, Material Handling & PaintingManage and ensure compliance for hazardous waste in areas where it is accumulated and storedOther duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as requiredPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Previous paint experience helpful, but not requiredAbility to lift, carry and position parts weighing up to 50 lbs.Some forklift experience and experience handling large parts is helpful, but not requiredGood written and oral communication skillsBasic computer skills; familiar with AS400Ability to follow inventory control proceduresAbility to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environmentHave a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team playerAbility to safely use hand and power tools; ability to read blueprints and tape measure, when neededCapable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and implementation of changeAt Great Plains Manufacturing, our people make the difference, making our company a great place to work and grow.
