Location 221 Grove Street, New Castle, Pennsylvania 16101 Shift 8hr-2nd Shift (United States of America), 3:50pm-12:20am. Pay: $20.25 per hour + $0.50 shift differential. Job Overview The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. The role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. The Machine Operator also follows Good Manufacturing Practices. Responsibilities Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies. Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedule. Demonstrates a One Team Cross Functional attitude by working well and effectively with others. Embraces and participates in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant. Adheres to company General Manufacturing Policies and ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws. Keeps the work area clutter‑free, clean, and organized. Introduces preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin and other mechanical changes. Operates blow‑mold/PET/injection molding machines (including wheels, reciprocating or shuttle machines) to produce quality bottles. Adheres to quality control and blow‑mold process procedure. Introduces troubleshooting and resolves process problems. Performs bottle inspections such as drop tests for designated lines. Inspects the quality of bottles during production, packaging and labeling. Performs audits, weight and quality checks; machine variations may exist by site. Adjusts to meet product specifications. Troubleshoots and performs minor repair on blow‑mold and support equipment. Immediately escalates bottle abnormalities, defects and quality issues when found. Monitors supply levels of packaging materials and replenishes as needed. Picks up dropped bottles, places them into bins, and, if needed, into grinder. Ensures correct labeling, bottle description and packaging of product per customer requirements. Moves finished goods to designated area. Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and more. Prepares maintenance request forms and documents equipment repairs. Receives instructions on specific job tasks from Lead Operator or Supervisor; receives assistance on unusual problems and reviews work for sound professional judgment. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Duties may differ by plant based on equipment and plant design. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs. Experience Basic mathematical skills are required. Basic computer experience. Blow mold experience. Education Prefer High School diploma or GED. Training Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire date. Physical Demands Required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, handle, use arms; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Frequently required to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. Noisy environment, temperature varies between hot and cold. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
