About The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly driven Mobile Engineer to join our Compliance & KYC engineering team, where you will play a key role in building secure, regulation-compliant, and localised onboarding solutions for users around the world.

This is not a typical feature-building role. You will have end-to-end technical ownership for one or more key markets, working closely with regional business leaders, compliance experts, and external KYC vendors. You will have the autonomy to drive localised engineering solutions, make critical architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and user-centric onboarding experiences.

We welcome strong native iOS or Android engineers equally. You will be expected to have deep expertise in your platform and be willing to work across both, leveraging AI coding tools to bridge the gap where needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Take full technical ownership of specific regional markets, leading mobile KYC and compliance implementation from requirements to release.
• Make independent engineering decisions based on business context, regulatory needs, and technical constraints - balancing speed, maintainability, and compliance.
• Build and maintain critical mobile onboarding features such as document verification, facial recognition, and liveness detection, ensuring seamless and secure user experiences across iOS and Android.
• Collaborate closely with regional market leaders, compliance and legal teams, and product managers to translate local regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate and optimise third-party KYC SDKs and services while managing performance, security, and UX trade-offs.
• Ensure mobile data flows and user permissions are fully compliant with local and international privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, PDPA, CCPA).
• Influence mobile architecture decisions with a focus on modularity, reusability, and maintainability — particularly for region-specific features.
• Apply AI tools and coding assistants to accelerate development, improve code quality, and cross-translate solutions across iOS and Android platforms.
• Identify and resolve edge cases, production issues, and technical risks related to compliance flows.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of ownership, autonomy, and high engineering standards.

What We Look For In You

• 5+ years of native iOS or Android development experience, preferably with exposure to secure or compliance-sensitive features.
• Deep expertise in either iOS or Android, with a willingness to contribute across both platforms, leveraging AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex to work effectively across stacks.
• Actively uses AI tools in your engineering workflow, including building AI-leveraged workflows, curating domain knowledge bases, and codifying repeatable agent skills so tools like Claude Code or Codex deliver reliably on real production work.
• Proven ability to independently own and drive technical solutions end-to-end, especially for region-specific or regulatory requirements.
• Strong hands-on experience integrating camera, biometric, OCR, or facial recognition SDKs into production mobile apps.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and international stakeholders, with the ability to influence product and compliance decisions from a technical perspective.
• Deep understanding of mobile platform capabilities, performance tuning, and secure data handling.
• Able to balance speed, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced, high-trust environment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills — able to clearly articulate trade-offs, constraints, and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-To-Haves

• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks and KYC solution providers such as Jumio, Onfido, Sumsub, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience working across both iOS and Android in a production environment.
