Registration Specialist - Overnights

1. Responsibilities
   1. Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
   2. Register patients and verify patient demographics and up-date as indicated, including verification of billing information.
   3. Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
   4. Answer telephone and route as appropriate.
   5. Coordinate paper work and distributes necessary forms to various departments.
   6. Maintain work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner.
   7. Maintain confidentiality and privacy in matters relating to patient/family.
   8. Adhere to River's Edge Hospital & Clinic policies and procedures.
   9. Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team oriented approach.
   10. Work with other staff to ensure that departmental goals and objectives are met.
   11. Report accurately and timely to those who require information.
   12. Work Excellian Registration work queues as assigned.
   13. Initiate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers.
   14. Attend meetings as required.
   15. Provide good communication and works effectively with co-workers, other departments and staff to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met.
   16. Arrive and leave work on time.
   17. Perform work as assigned/required.
   18. Maintain current awareness of changes in departmental and River's Edge Hospital & Clinic procedures and events by reviewing routed and posted information.
   19. Schedule patients from Emergency Department requiring IV Therapy as needed.

   1. Maintain cash drawer.

1. Other Duties
   1. Maintain working knowledge of facility fire and disaster plans, accurately and efficiently perform duties in the event of drills and related actual situations.
   2. Participate in facility committees and work teams as appropriate.
   3. Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician and employee information.
   4. Assist in the orientation and training of new employees and/or students.
   5. Complete special projects and perform other related duties, as assigned.

1. Relationships
   1. Reports directly to the Registration Lead and the Patient Financial Services Manager.

1. High school graduate or GED.
2. Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
4. Experience with computers and other office equipment.
5. Excellent skills in oral and written communication, including grammar, spelling, and use of punctuation.
6. Ability to manage a complex work environment.
7. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for services excellence.
8. Typing ability of 50 wpm.
9. Ability to maintain effective relationships with patients, employees and the public.
10. Ability to work with limited supervision while following directions given.

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two weeks) position, working overnight shifts. The shift times are from 10:00pm to 6:30am, Sunday night through Thursday night.

Compensation details: 17.64-25.53 Hourly Wage
