Position Summary

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will provide skilled therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with agency policies and procedures, physician orders, and state and federal regulations.

In this role, you will utilize your clinical expertise, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, safety, and independence. You will work closely with patients, caregivers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to carry out established plans of care and achieve positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Implement physical therapy treatment plans as established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Establish positive, professional relationships with patients and their families through compassionate communication.
• Assess home environments and identify factors that may impact patient safety and recovery.
• Review and reinforce physician and therapist instructions with patients and caregivers.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, fall prevention, and safe mobility techniques.
• Observe, monitor, and report patient progress and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide timely updates and recommendations to the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient response to treatment.
• Document services provided and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in case conferences, care planning discussions, chart audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
• Current Kansas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current CPR certification required (or ability to obtain before orientation).
• Home health experience preferred but not required.
• Current TB test required (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the care team.
