Human Resources Manager Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt At Pursuit Center, our work is deeply personal. We support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, meaningful lives. Our managers and frontline teams do important, often challenging work, and they rely on strong, steady HR support to do it well. We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager who is grounded, practical, and confident supporting leaders through real-world employee situations. This role is less about volume and more about judgment, consistency, and being a trusted partner across the organization. Core Responsibilities Serve as the go-to HR partner for managers navigating employee concerns and workplace issues Coach leaders through performance management, corrective action, and day-to-day employee challenges Review, guide, and support disciplinary decisions to ensure consistency and fairness Draft written warnings, final warnings, and termination documentation Lead workplace investigations as needed (typically 1-2 each month) Supervise and support two HR team members, helping them grow and stay organized and consistent Keep HR processes practical, compliant, and easy for managers to follow Step in when situations are sensitive, urgent, or high-stakes What We’re Looking For 7+ years of HR experience, with strong employee relations experience Experience supporting managers through performance and disciplinary issues Ability to lead workplace investigations independently when needed Solid understanding of employment laws and real-world application Prior team leadership experience or readiness to step into managing others Someone who is calm, fair, and comfortable making tough calls What Will Set You Apart Comfortable working with newer or less experienced managers Ability to bring structure to unclear or complex situations Keeps HR practical and usable, not overly complicated Strong follow-through and accountability Work Environment Fully onsite in Houston, TX 77011 Occasional after-hours support by phone for urgent matters We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. #J-18808-Ljbffr United Against Human Trafficking
