The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is part of the Cardiac Interventional Unit. The Cardiac Interventional unit is a 33-bed unit consisting of 12 Progressive Care Unit beds and 21 Acute Care beds. This unit treats interventional cardiology patients with cases such as post-cardiac catheters, post-cardiac ablation, post-pacemakers, and patients coming from the EP lab. This unit features a great, cohesive team with staff willing to help each other out.Baystate's Regional Heart Attack Program is known nationally for delivering life-saving care. During a heart attack, every minute counts. We can unblock your artery up to 25 minutes sooner than the national standard. In fact, Baystate is in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide when it comes to this life-saving treatment.Baystate Medical Center is the only hospital in our area that can stop a heart attack instantly by unblocking an artery. And we can do this procedure 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Baystate Medical Center's experts perform more than 80% of all cardiac surgeries in western Massachusetts. When it comes to heart surgery, we are one of the top three highest-volume medical centers in Massachusetts.The Patient Care Technician role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while gaining hands-on clinical experience and building a strong foundation for career growth in healthcare while working alongside a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.The Patient Care Technician Will:Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.Make a meaningful difference every day.
