Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Summary for PCU RN - Nights:


- Provide patient care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown)
- Manage and monitor cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips and thrombolytic agents
- Perform respiratory interventions: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, oxygen therapy, ABG interpretation
- Conduct IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage central/PICC/peripheral lines
- Administer blood products as needed
- Care for patients with various conditions: renal failure, post-hemodialysis, CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal
- Manage feeding tubes and continuous bladder irrigation
- Provide wound care, wound vac maintenance, and manage surgical drains
- Implement isolation precautions and PPE use
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Care for post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pacemaker patients
- Manage endocrine/metabolic protocols (e.g., IV insulin)
- Provide orthopedic care (e.g., joint replacements, traction)
- Maintain professional certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (preferred)
- Work night shifts, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
