Traffic Coordinator - University of Kansas Hospital

Summary The Traffic Coordinator directs vehicular traffic and delivers hospitality services at the University of Kansas Hospital. Duties include issuing valet tickets, upholding parking policies, retrieving vehicles safely, and assisting guests with luggage. Responsibilities Select vehicular traffic flows, providing friendly service to patients, guests, and staff. Issue valet parking tickets following mystery‑shop standards. Enforce parking policies, retrieve and park guest vehicles promptly and safely. Assist guests with luggage delivery and pick‑up during arrival and departure. Uphold guest confidentiality per HIPAA. Respond to directions and inquiries; share information about surrounding area and attractions. Collect and maintain parking data, claim checks, and guest folio archives. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions Direct traffic while maintaining a professional demeanor; greet guests, use their last name and proper phone etiquette. Assist marketing with client‑targeted initiatives. Maintain accurate records and composure under pressure. Help guests with directions, protect confidential information, and gather parking data. Obtain and use information about events and rates; maintain claim checks and archives; run quickly to park and retrieve vehicles. Complete all other duties, ensuring 100% coverage of role. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Age 18+, criminal background check and drug screen clearance. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. 1–3 months related experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of traffic and valet procedures. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills (handling money, units, rates). Proficiency in 24‑hour and military time, rate calculations. Customer service experience preferred; computer and register skills preferred. Ability to drive manual transmission and perform parallel parking.
