Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations and screenings for residents with communication or swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with resident needs and care goals.
- Provide direct therapy focused on voice, fluency, language, cognition, and dysphagia management; utilize appropriate therapeutic approaches and modalities.
- Document evaluation results, progress notes, and treatment outcomes; communicate findings with the interdisciplinary care team and update care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and social work to support discharge planning, progression through levels of care, and transition planning.
- Monitor safety, document therapy outcomes, and adjust treatment plans based on resident response and changing medical status.

Requirements
- Active Maine state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- ASHA CCC-SLP certification or eligibility; CFY accepted where applicable.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- 1+ year of experience in skilled nursing facility or acute care settings preferred.
- Ability to work in a travel assignment and commit to a 13-week contract; strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to document clearly and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
