The Opportunity
Join Brock Canada in Kitimat and bring your cryogenic insulation and foam-injection experience to industrial LNG work. As an Apprentice Insulator, you’ll install complex systems, keep specialized equipment reliable, and support crews in delivering safe, high-quality work. Your technical judgment and practical improvement ideas will help strengthen equipment reliability and the way work gets done.
What You’ll Do

• Install cryogenic insulation systems rated to -162°C or colder using PIR/PUR foam, cellular glass (Foamglas), Cryogel/aerogel, vapour barriers, contraction joints, and multi-layer systems.
• Read isometric drawings, insulation specifications, P&IDs where applicable, manufacturer requirements, and project installation details to determine insulation thickness, configuration, and installation requirements.
• Operate, inspect, and monitor Graco Reactor 3 E-30 proportioning equipment, heated hoses, transfer pumps, and related foam injection equipment; complete pre-use inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on trailer-mounted equipment, including generators, compressors, and heating units.
• Verify foam quality through density testing, core sampling, cure monitoring, and void detection.
• Direct, mentor, and provide technical support to insulation crews on industrial LNG projects.
• Maintain inventory of foam injection materials, consumables, and spare parts; coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Complete required maintenance, inspection, and quality documentation. Identify and mitigate foam-injection hazards, follow safety, quality, and environmental requirements, and support continuous improvement of foam injection processes and equipment reliability.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 1 years of experience in each of the following areas:
  • Installing cryogenic insulation systems rated to -162°C or colder, including PIR/PUR foam, cellular glass (Foamglas), Cryogel/aerogel, vapour barriers, contraction joints, and multi-layer systems.
  • Operating, inspecting, and monitoring Graco Reactor 3 E-30 proportioning equipment, heated hoses, transfer pumps, and associated foam injection equipment, including pre-use inspections.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on trailer-mounted equipment, including generators, compressors, and heating units.
  • Verifying foam quality through density testing, core sampling, cure monitoring, and void detection.
• Experience reading and applying isometric drawings, insulation specifications, P&IDs where applicable, manufacturer requirements, and project installation details.
• At least 1 years of experience directing, mentoring, or providing technical support to insulation crews on industrial LNG projects.
• A valid driver’s licence and a commitment to following safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
